Through restraint and release,
electro-­percussion duo IMA explores innate tensions through an array of metallic response and voice. With stark electronics and atmospheric percussion by AMMA ATERIA x NAVA DUNKELMAN, their marches forth with space-expanding densities to brinks of breakage situated by beautification in between. IMA have performed and collaborated with avant-garde pioneers Ikue Mori, Pauchi Sasaki, Fred Frith, John Zorn, and many others.

AMMA ATERIA is an audiovisual artist and electro­-acoustic composer with gravitation to white noise, construction sites, roaming traffic, inaudible conversations, and airplanes...synthesised sounds through a collection of electronic hardware and plexiglass.

NAVA DUNKELMAN is a percussionist and improviser born in Tokyo, Her sonic interests span the globe from Japanese taiko to Indonesian gamelan, from classical to contemporary to the avant­ garde.
